As a Rumson wedding photographer, I adore staying connected with my couples. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Dakota, Donnie, and their children, Cash and Ranger, at their home Scothigh Farm. Capturing these moments in such a meaningful setting brings me joy, especially when I photographed their wedding at the same place almost 14 years ago. Such a beautiful wedding!
SCOTHIGH FARM
Originally known as Applewynd, for its apple orchard, Scothigh Farm was built in 1926 as a summer home by Isabella and Manton B. Metcalf Jr., who made a fortune in the textile industry. The mansion, an 11,000-square-foot Colonial revival-style home sits on a 30-acre estate. It remains the largest privately owned residence in Rumson.
In the library of the home, in an area once covered by an Oriental rug, a trapdoor leads to a hidden liquor vault. When Isabella Metcalf died in 1993, the family opened the vault and found boxes of Cuban cigars and cases of wine, port and Scotch, including a bottle of port from the coronation of King George V. The Metcalfs poured many of their drinks in their spacious dining room, where a bar was cut into a wood-paneled wall. Sources:Could That Be Jay Gatsby Over at the Bar?
